Soonik Kwon, born in 1959 in Seoul, South Korea, graduated from the Fine Arts Department at Sejong University. His work is rooted in abstraction, mixed media, and a carefully crafted materiality, often combining paint, fine soil, graphite, and repetitive processes to explore themes such as memory, the present moment, and the absence of ego. Using techniques like layering, pile‑up, rubbing, and filling interstitial gaps between color fields, he creates surfaces that oscillate between flatness and relief, stillness and texture.

Over the course of more than 30 solo exhibitions and over 50 group shows worldwide, Soonik Kwon has presented his work in Korea, across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Recent solo exhibitions include Today at Whitestone Gallery in Seoul (2024), and Interstice of Time: Soonik Kwon at Present at Whitestone Gallery Taipei (2023). 

He has also participated in important group exhibitions such as Serenity at Whitestone Gallery Hong Kong (2025), De/construct at Whitestone Gallery Hong Kong (2023), and Vortex of Silence in Beijing (2023), as well as participating in the New York Armory Show 2025.

His works are held in public and private collections internationally, including institutions such as the Museo Nacional de Arte Contemporaneo (MAC), Venezuela; the Museo de Arte del Tolima, Colombia; Sungnam Arts Center, Korea; and galleries in Spain among others.

Her installations, often involving cyclical soundscapes and layered projections, emphasize the transient and constructed nature of reality. Choi’s work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Dia Art Foundation, Guggenheim Museum, and Berliner Festspiele, and is part of the permanent collections of FRAC Franche-Comté and Dia Art Foundation. She holds an MA in art and sound from NYU.Senstad has presented solo exhibitions at venues such as SL Gallery (New York), Galleri JMS (Norway), Houston Center for Photography, and the International Fine Arts Consortium (New York). Her immersive works have been featured in major exhibitions and biennales, including the 55th and 56th Venice Biennales, the Bruges Triennale, and at institutions such as Kai Art Center (Estonia), He Xiangning Art Museum (China), and Athr Gallery (Saudi Arabia). Notable large-scale and public projects include The Sugarcane Labyrinth in Louisiana and permanent installations at Zendai MoMA (Shanghai) and the Wolfe Center for the Arts (Ohio, with Snøhetta).

Senstad’s work is held in international collections and has received support from numerous cultural foundations. Her practice continues to bridge art, architecture, and sensory experience through investigations of light, space, and the poetics of perception.
